  1. I took my old wireless router (linksys wrt54g) and connected it to the cable modem for the network. The host computer works and connects to the internet. However, when the other computer tries to connect it goes through the normal stuff but hangs on “waiting for network to be ready”. On the “repair” function, it appears to get stuck while renewing the IP address. I didn’t change any settings on the router, but I did unplug the cable modem to reset it.

  2. On windows XP computer. Open Network connections, right click on wireless and go to Properties. You will see the wireless at the top. On this page, you will all the SSIDs saved on your computer. Delete the SSID which is not of important. Also delete the one which you are trying to connect.
    Now try to re-connect.

  3. I got it fixed by removing and adding the SSID in preferred list.
    Thanks for your help
