how to connect Kindle to WiFi network

Easy steps for kindle WiFi setup or how to connect kindle to the wireless network:

kindle WiFi uses Free 3G and Wi-Fi technology to enable you to wirelessly search, discover, and download content on the go. Your books are delivered wirelessly, typically in less than 60 seconds. If your Kindle has Wi-Fi and 3G, you can choose the most convenient connection. While you’re reading, and for many other activities, your Kindle does not need to connect to a wireless network. Other activities such as shopping in the Kindle Store and purchasing books do require a connection. Your Kindle automatically turns 3G coverage off when you connect using Wi-Fi. If you disconnect from a Wi-Fi or if you move out of Wi-Fi range, Kindle automatically switches back to 3G coverage.

Before connecting the Kindle to wifi network, you should know the settings of your router. If it is secured then you must know the correct key or password. if you are not sure about the settings then you will need to open the setup page of the router and check the settings.

Got my Kindle fire working. Thanks bro. It was a very nice experience. Your support is great. I upgraded my Linksys router firmware and it seems that other computers are getting faster internet now.

I am trying to connect kindle to wifi but it is not accepting the wireless password. My router is setup properly. All my other wifi devices are connected and able to access the Internet with the same password. I am not sure what is going wrong. I opened the setup page of the router and found that the WPA password is correct. I also upgraded the firmware. Not sure what to do now. Any help would be appreciated.

What settings do I need to change on my router? My wireless laptop and gaming device can see the wireless network but only Kindle can not find any. My laptop can see more than 4 ssid. I think it is not the problem with my Linksys router.

Try resetting (power off and then power it back on again, wait a minute or so before you try and enter the password on your kindle as it takes a little bit to restablish the wireless connection) your wireless router.

I am having the same issues. I have a linksys and a brand new Kindle. The Kindle recognizes the network, but when I put the (correct) password in, the Kindle tells me it is not the correct password. I am so frustrated!

I have the same router and the same problem. I’ve talked to linksys and amazon, not much help from either one. It will find my network but won’t recognize the password. I even shut security off which drops the lock icon on the kindle screen, it still won’t connect.

I can not connect my new kindle to the wi-fi network. I have Linksys E3000. All the other computers are connected and able to access the Internet. So I know my Linksys E3000 is working properly. I am not sure about the settings of E3000. I have read something about MAC address filter. What it is?

Mac Address filter means that your device ID was blocked from connecting to the system. In this case your device will not be able to get a valid ip address.
