I can connect to the internet through the modem directly, but when I connect the computer to the router, the router to the modem, i get the error message. I also need to connect a wireless laptop. I have a WEP key, I disabled the firewalls, but still nothing. Any advice?

Unfortunately the CD did not work so I was looking for help to setup Linksys WRT120N manually. Thanks for your support. The technician was very good. He called me up and reconfigured the wrt120n in just 20 minutes where as I was searching for instructions for 5 hours.

make sure that if you are using the key on Windows computer then windows should manage the wireless connection.

You don’t need to do anything. It will connect automatically. The only thing is that update the key whenever you change any wireless setting.
