    Linksys EA2700 setup without Cisco connect software:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    You can install EA2700 without the Cisco connect software also. You just need to open the Linksys router setup page and change the settings manually. Setup page is the page where you can change the settings of EA2700 manually. Guest network access can be managed using setup page . There is no need to install the Cisco software to create guest access which was necessary for E1000, E2000, E3000 routers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Step 1: Check Internet connection through modem.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    Connect the computer directly to the Internet modem and make sure that your Internet is working correctly through the modem. If it is not, then call the internet service provider and get the Internet connection fixed through the modem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Step 2: Make connections to the Linksys EA2700 router.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    Connect the modem to the Internet \/ WAN port and connect your computer to one of the 4 Ethernet ports on the EA2700 router. If you connect the computer to the internet port, it will not communicate with the router. And you will not be able to setup your router. So make proper connections as shown in the image below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Step 3: Open the Linksys E900 router setup page<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    Open the Internet browser on your computer. In the address bar type 192.168.1.1. This number 192.168.1.1<\/a> is the default IP address of the router. It will ask you for the user name and password.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Try the\u00a0Linksys default password<\/a>\u00a0\u201cadmin\u201d. If that does not work, then try any other password that you might have used while installing your router for the first time. If nothing is working, then you will need to\u00a0reset Linksys router<\/a>\u00a0to factory default settings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Once you open the setup page of the router, you will see all the settings which are required to be customized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Step 4: Change Internet connection settings.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    Change the Internet connection settings according to your Internet service provider.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    In case of Cable Internet provider, you need to clone the MAC address of the main computer. 
    In case of DSL Internet service, you need to change the PPPoE settings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Step 5: Access Internet on Main computer<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    You have now changed the internet connection settings. Try to go online on the main wired computer. Once your main computer is able to go online, your router is connected to the modem successfully.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Step 6: Change wireless settings<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    Change the wireless settings. Click on Wireless tab. Create a new wireless network name SSID. Keep the Network mode Mixed. SSID Broadcast Enabled. Click Save settings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Go to Wireless Security sub tab. Enable security on the wireless network. Change it to WPA2 personal. Enter the password. Save settings. Do not share your network key with anybody.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Step 7: Connect to wireless network.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    Your wireless network is setup. If you have any wireless computer or other Wifi devices then try to connect to WiFi. You will see the Wifi name that you just created. It will ask you for the password. Enter the Wifi password. And it will connect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Setup Linksys EA2700 using Cisco connect:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Use the Cisco connect software for the initial setup of your new EA2700. Run the program and at the end it will connect you to the Internet. You don\u2019t need to do anything. The software will do all the settings on its own. It will also create the new wireless network with the unique name and password. You will get all the wireless settings at the end of the installation. You can later change the SSID and the security key.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    What is Linksys EA2700 default password?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Linksys EA2700 default password is admin<\/strong>. However if you have installed your router using Cisco connect software then your wireless network key will be the password of router also. Open the Cisco connect software and go to router settings, you will see the user name and password.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    If nothing is working then you will need to reset EA2700 and reconfigure. Remember if you reset the device, it will come back to factory default settings and you will lose all the settings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    3) Gigabit Ethernet Ports for 10x faster wired speeds than standard Ethernet. Four (4) Gigabit Ethernet ports on the back that can provide faster data transfer on your wired network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    4) Simultaneous dual-band<\/strong> to maximize throughput. For more wireless bandwidth, EA2700 can create two (2) <\/strong>simultaneous yet separate wireless-N networks, one using the 5 GHz<\/strong>radio frequency band and one using the 2.4 GHz <\/strong>band.  For example, you may use the wireless-N 2.4 GHz network to surf, email, and print while keeping the less crowded, wireless-N 5 GHz network free for time-sensitive traffic like online gaming, and HD videos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    6) Guest Access<\/strong> \u2013 Guest Access provides visitors to your home with Internet access without giving them access to your computers or personal data. It allows you to provide Internet access up to 50<\/strong> guests visiting your home without granting them access to your local network. The Guest Access feature makes sharing Internet access to other wireless devices possible while maintaining maximum security to your home network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    7) IPv6 enabled<\/strong> \u2013 IPv6 is a new IP protocol that uses simplified packet headers and requires IPSec as a fundamental interoperability requirement. It also has improved support for mobile IP and computing devices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Linksys EA2700 Firmware Upgrade<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    First of all, use a wired computer for firmware upgrade. Avoid wireless connection for this process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    If you have a wireless computer only then disable wireless network on the computer and connect it with the Ethernet cable to EA2700.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Download Firmware<\/a>\u00a0from Linksys website. Save it on your computer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Open Linksys router setup page using 192.168.1.1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Go to Administration tab. Click on Firmware upgrade Sub-tab.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Browse\/select the Firmware file that you have downloaded on your computer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Click Start Upgrade. Wait for the process to Finish. After firmware upgrade is finished, it will reboot the device automatically.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
