When you try to connect to the network on a windows XP computer, sometimes you get this error message “<\/em>No wireless networks are found in the range of this computer, make sure that the wireless switch on your computer is turned ON<\/span><\/em>” <\/strong>. This error message means that the computer is not able to find the networks in the range.<\/p>\n

Why Do you get the error?<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

There might be 3 possible reasons for this error message.<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Your router is not broadcasting the signals.<\/li>\n
  2. The wireless switch on your computer might be turned OFF.<\/li>\n
  3. The channel might not be selected properly.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    As I said, there might be 3 possible reasons for this error. Make sure that the switch on your laptop is not turned OFF.  Most of the laptops have a wireless switch on the side or front panel. You need to turn it ON. If it is already turned ON then turn it OFF and turn it back ON. Try to connect again and see if that works. If not then you will need to open the set up page of the router and check the settings of the router. Make sure that the SSID broadcast is enabled. If it is enabled then try changing the channel. If that doesn’t work then try to upgrade the firmware of the router.<\/p>\n
