How to reset Linksys router<\/h1>\n

In this article, we will discuss how to reset tLinksys router<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n

Before you press the reset button, you must be aware that you are going to lose all the settings of your network.<\/p>\n

Your device will come back to the factory default settings and you will need to reconfigure it from the beginning.<\/p>\n

    Let us start with the reset process.<\/p>\n

    Step 1: Find the reset button on your router.<\/h4>\n

    There is a small reset button on the rear panel of the router. Generally Linksys routers have reset button on the rear panel where you connect the Ethernet cables.<\/p>\n

    In case of WRT series of routers, small red colored hole on the back panel. In case of new E series routers E4200, E3200, E1200, E2500, E1550, E1500, the reset button is at the bottom side. You will need to turn the device upside down.<\/p>\n

    Step 2: Press the reset button.<\/h4>\n

    As per the manual you need to press the reset button for 10 seconds. Use a ball point pen or paper clip. I will suggest you to and hold it at least for 20 seconds. While pressing the reset button, you will see the power light  blinking.<\/p>\n\n\n

    Step 3: Release the reset button.<\/h4>\n

    Release the button and wait for approximately 30 seconds till the lights become normal on the device.<\/p>\n

    Step4: Unplug the power cable.<\/h4>\n

    Unplug the power from the back side of the device. Wait for 20 seconds and plug it back in.<\/p>\n

    Step5: Let the router boot up.<\/h4>\n

    Wait for 30 seconds till all the lights turn ON and power light will become solid.<\/p>\n

    Step 6:Done<\/h4>\n

    Your router is now back to factory default settings. You will now need to run the CD for reconfiguration. Or you can setup your device manually, without CD. Just open the setup page and change the settings to create a new network. See How to setup Linksys router<\/a><\/p>\n

    What to do if you see Linksys router blinking power light?<\/h2>\n

    If you see Linksys router blinking power light continuously, then there is a serious problem with your device. It might be bricked. Try to reset the router 2 \u2013 3 times and check to see if the Linksys router blinking power light becomes solid.<\/p>\n

    If the power light is still blinking then you can try 30-30 reset on your router.<\/p>\n

    1. Unplug all the cables from the device except power cable.<\/li>\n
    2. Press and hold the reset button on the device for 30 seconds.<\/li>\n
    3. Release the reset button.<\/li>\n
    4. Unplug the power cable.<\/li>\n
    5. Wait for 30 seconds.<\/li>\n
    6. Plugin the power cable.<\/li>\n
    7. Wait for 30 seconds.<\/li>\n
    8. Check if the power is still blinking or flashing.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      If the power light is not blinking anymore then it is good to go. If the power light is still flashing then try to repeat the same process again. Try it 2 – 3 times.<\/p>\n

      If you still see Linksys router blinking power light then you may need to get a new device or replace this one if in warranty period.<\/p>\n

      Bricked is when your fancy piece of electronic kit becomes a worthless lump of plastic because the firmware has crashed and it won’t boot.<\/p>\n
